In this thread will be listed every kiho in the game. They are learned at a rate of 1 per level and you start with 2.

They can only be cast by kiho monks, shamans and sohei. Note that a shugenja (is also a monk, shaman or sohei of course) can cast kiho with an element for 1 less, and a kiho with an element they also have focus with for 2 less.

Note that all effects are subject to the power (i.e. level) of yourself and the target.

If you are any number of levels higher than the enemy, expect the kiho to work without much change of failure (excluding enemies with special protections which would require anywhere from 5 to 10 levels over your opponent). If you are the same level as an enemy, one should be wary of enemies with extremely high resistance to whatever effect you are using. If your opponent is 1-4 levels higher than you, odds are you kiho will work with some sort of reduced power (usually duration or overall effect). If your opponent is 5 levels or higher than you, the power of your kiho will be extremely reduced.

A Glimpse of the Soul's Shadow
Cost: 3
Requirements: Good alignment
Effect:The kiho user releases his ki in such a way that the target of this attack is able to delve his or her mind into the realm of shadows for a split second. Seeing the darkness inherit in all things around him, the target is sent into a fear filled panic. The only persons immune to this [/b]Effect[/b] are those with hearts so pure that they can see the goodness in all things.

Aid of the Fortunes
Cost: 7
Requirements: Spend at least 3 days meditating in the shrine of a Fortune
Effect: This effect mildly increases your strength, stamina, speed and overall power. For every shrine to a fortune you have spent at least 3 days meditating in, this effect is retroactively applied to you once again.

Aid of the Grand Master
Cost: 7
Requirements: Dragonfly Clan only, must be or have met the Grandmaster of the elements and you must have traveled to another plane of existence
Effect: You swipe your hand through the air. Existence seems to rip along your arm, creating a portal to another dimension. From this portal comes a common being or group of beings (who would be collectively weaker in combat than the single being) belonging to that plane. These beings will serve you for up to 10 minutes. After the time is up, they will return back to their home plane. This kiho can only be cast in an area where the dimensional barriers separating the material and other plane are weak.

Air Fist
Cost: 2+x
Requirements: None
Element: Air
Effect: A basic air kiho, this ability allows the monk to focus his strikes so they have the speed of the wind. The user's fist expels tremendous amounts of air element dealing extra damage with each hit, as well as hitting excessively quick with each powerful blow. The more ki used in the attack, the stronger the pushing winds and the faster the actual punch becomes. At a maximum of 10 total reiatsu (i.e. x=Cool, this attack can shatter boulders faster than even a level 15 rabbit monk.

Amaterasu's Blessing
Cost: 3
Requirements: Be in good standing with Amaterasu, the Emporer and the Ki-Rin clan
Effect: This kiho may only be cast during the day if the sun is shining. If your level is below 5, you will gain a minor bonus to all statistics. This kiho also prevents your statistics from lowering due to curses or other effects if you are an honorable person.

Amoro's Honor
Cost: 6
Requirements: Bear clan
Effect: You gain a minor power boost for every adversary you face. You may only use this if you are fighting alone against more than 3 people.

Ancestral Guidance
Cost: 5
Requirements: Rabbit Clan
Effect: Calling upon the wisdom of your ancestors, this kiho calms the user and allows him to see that which one can normally not see in combat. Suddenly, openings in enemy defenses and weaknesses in enemy plans seem painfully obvious to the user of the kiho. This effect lasts 5 minutes in personal combat, or 10 minutes in a large-scale battle.

Ancient Knowledge
Cost: 5
Requirements: Be a spirit, hengeyokai or of the Fox Clan
Effect: This kiho takes an hour to perform. The user partitions the spirits for a piece of knowledge, setting a blank scroll before the user. For the rest of the day, the user is placed in a semi-lucid trance and is essentially helpless in any combat that might take place that day, however at the end of the day, if the user survives, upon the scroll will be written the knowledge the user seeks. It can only be cast once every month.

Art of the Kamaitachi
Cost: 5+x
Requirements: Level 10 and up, Air Fist
Element: Air
Effect: The user performs a punch much like a normal air punch, however it needs not connect directly to a target. The user expels all air-element within its arm, creating a whirling torrent of slicing air directed at an enemy up to x*10ft away. x (max ten) determines the speed of the attack and amount of damage it does. At the highest rank, it can shatter boulders faster than a level 15 rabbit monk. A hengeyokai (ferret or weasel) can use this technique at a cost reduction of 2.

Banish All Shadows
Cost: 2
Requirements: -
Effect: This Effect clears the mind of the user, removing all traces of fear or panic in the mind of the user.

Be the Breeze
Cost: 10
Requirements: None
Effect: The wind around the user speeds up and rushes to his commands, wisping around and within the spirits of any nearby arrows. May only be cast alongside one or more archers. When used with a single archer, the arrow of the archer travels up to 10 times as far without losing accuracy or velocity. When used with many archers, arrows will travel 3 times as far and the archers will be able to shoot 2 times as fast.

Be the Mountain
Cost: 4
Requirements: Sparrow, Dragonfly or Bear Clan
Effect: This spell confers upon its user great fortitude. The user becomes nearly immune to any disease or poison traveling through his body for about a minute, and for about 30 seconds, it will be nearly impossible to move the user. The user must have both feet touching the ground to use this spell (he may be wearing footwear).

Blessed Ward
Cost: 3
Requirements: None
Effect: This effect blesses one area against corruption. Any evil spirit (or spirit with malign intent) who enters the area is instantly repelled. This kiho lasts until the spirit (or group of minor spirits) who first enter the area are repelled. They remain repelled for up to 10 minutes.

Catching the Wind's Favor
Cost: 5+x
Requirements: None
Element: Air
Effect: Use this kiho in response to any sort of ranged attack. The ranged attack is deflected away from the kiho user. If the amount of energy used is 5 more than needed to deflect the attack, it can be directed back to the person who used it (or double, whichever is higher). x=the minimum amount needed for the sort of attack used.

x=0: A single rock or arrow or small bit of fire
x=1: A rock thrown by a strong bear general, a arrow shot by an expert archer or a small fireball
x=5: A boulder thrown by a very very strong monk, an arrow shot by the greatest archer in the land or a large fireball
x=10: A boulder thrown by the strongest monk in the empire, a thick volley of arrows or 4 extremely large fireballs.

Cleansing Spirit
Cost: 5
Requirements: None
Element: Earth
Effect: The user of this kiho spends time (depending on the severity and strength of the poison or illness in question) to cleanse his or her body of any illness, poison or non-magical corruption on the monk's body. While the monk's body is focused on the actual physical body, however, the mind is extremely vulnerable to outside influences.

Flee the Darkness
Cost: 10+x
Requirements: Sparrow or Dragonfly Clan or spellcasting class levels
Element: Air
Effect: Creating an orb of pure air Element, the acting kiho user can deflect weaker spells (up to 5th level for wu-jen or 20 element points for shugenja). The kiho user must spend 2 points as x for each level of wujen spell above 0 (so deflecting a level 1 spell would cost 10+2, a level 2 spell would cost 10+4, etc...). It costs half a point for each element point spent. The "deflected" shot is essentially dissolved quite literally in the orb of spinning gale, the tiny remnants of the magic helplessly and uselessly spinning off in a random direction.

Fortune's Breath
Cost: 3
Requirementss: None; -1 Cost for Wolf clan (minimum 1)
Element: Air
Effect: Your lungs instantly fill with air. For the next 5 minutes, you will draw air from around yourself into your body, enabling you to walk through smoke, strange gases or even swim for long periods of time.

The Great Silence
Cost: 20
Requirementss: Any non-shugenja and non-wujen
Element: Air
Effect: The bane of many shugenja and wujen, this ability intermingles the chi of the user with that of the target, causing the target to go completely mute (therefore unable to cast) for several rounds. It should be noted though that this does require eye contact and can only effect one enemy at a time.

Harmony of the Wind
Cost: 15
Requirementss: At least 1 level in a warrior class other than the one taken to get this kiho in the first place
Element: Air
Effect: The chi of the target is immediately detected by the chi of the user. The user is able to immediately size up the target's abilities, knowing all of the target's attribute bonus' up until the two leave one another's presence.

Soul of the Four Winds
Cost: 30
Requirementss: None
Element: Air
Effect: The user draws in air-element from around him, granting an extremely high reaction time to his/her surroundings. This effectively triples the normal human reaction speed for 1 minute. A powerful kiho, if used correctly.

Stain Upon The Soul
Cost: 5 or 20
Requirementss: Sparrow
Element: Air
Effect: With a successful strike infused with negative chi, the user imbues a nerve cluster in the opponent with this negative force, causing it to writhe in immense pain. A single hit alone can be devastating to an opponent, however if a user pays 20 to use this technique, the strike can be performed up to 5 times (Effectively saving 5 ki).

Steal the Air Dragon
Cost: 20
Requirementss: None
Element: Air
Effect: This effect allows the user to create an air of ultimate serenity around itself. Anyone caught in the effect (its radius is only about 50 feet) will be placed into such a state that the user will be go unnoticed. This effect only works so long as the user shows no signs of aggression, holds no weapons and says nothing, no one in the area with sentience/intelligence will notice your existence. You can walk into a guarded room and no one will say a thing!

Way of the Willow
Cost: 30+10 for each minute
Requirementss: None
Element: Air
Effect: For the next minute, as long as you are not attacking, any attack performed against you is immediately blocked or shrugged aside (as long as such a thing is feasible) as the wind within you moves your body to perform such a feat.

Wind's Truth
Cost: 15
Requirementss: None
Element: Air
Effect: This kiho aligns the monk's chi with that of the air. For the next 5 minutes, so long as the monk performs no strenuous action, the monk cannot be deceived or manipulated. Performing a strenuous task (a punch with any kind of force behind it, lifting something heavy, etc...) will become increasingly more difficult as this kiho forcefully "relaxes" the monk's mind and body.
