Character Application Guide

Heya! Read all the rules and planning to sign up? You've come to the right place. =3 Please read this user friendly application guide and follow the template when signing up! <3 Please note that you can only have one character, so please think through the details of your character thoroughly as you will be RPing him/her throughout your time spent in Saiken.

AIM Screen Name: For easier contact, we encourage all members to download this Instant Messenger - it's also a great IM system for RPing.

Name: Your character's name should go here. All names should be Asian, as Saiken takes place in an Eastern setting. Also, please underline your character's surname so that everyone else won't get confused, especially if your name is unique and exotic.
Clan: There are 6 lovely clans to choose from - Crane, Fox, Rabbit, Bear, Wolf, and Dragonfly. Please check out the Factions section in the forums to get an overview about the clans, for each clan is different - you should choose the one which suits your character's personality or traits best.
Race: Most PCs (and citizens of Saiken) are human. Non-humans will need to use special benefits/flaws in order to reflect their abilities and weaknesses.
Gender:
Age: Please be reasonable and sensible.

Level and Classes: Start at level 2. For example "Samurai 2" or "Samurai 1, Ninja 1".
Experience: Starts at 0.

Traits
Benefits: This section may be left blank for now, if you have no idea as to what unique traits your character may have. Please read the Traits System for further details on this. All Benefits must be approved by the Main Staff.
Flaws: Same as above, all Flaws must be approved by the Main Staff.

Stat Increases/Decreases:
-List here.
-Can be anything from "Strength" or "Origami". Gained through various abilities including benefits, flaws, etc...
-Purely used for comparison with other characters

Koku: This is how much money you have. If you use koku outside of your clan's, or have no clan, list it like "Koku (Fox)" or "Koku (Bear)".

Items/Possessions: Please list any items or possessions that your character has here. Any special or magical items should be run by the Main Staff before being listed down. Basic items such as fans, knives, or food do not require prior approval. If you are unsure if an item is considered special or not, feel free to drop one of the Main Staff a PM or catch them on AIM.

Appearance: Here lies the description of your character. Please write this in paragraph form, rather than as a list. Please be as detailed as you possibly can, describing your character's looks and what they're wearing etcetera. This should be no less than 150 words.

Persona: Here is where the sexy description of your character's personality goes. Please do not name them in a list, but rather as a written paragraph, with enough details for other RPers to get a feel of what your character is like. Is he/she nice? Is he/she mean? Please try to avoid impossibly conflicting personalities such as "he is shy and weak but likes to get involved in many gory battles and fights whenever given the chance". This should be no less than 150 words.

Background Story: This may be written in any format to make it more interesting - it may be written as a short snippet bio, journal log, letter to a friend, recollection of memories, diary, A&E biography, or even people talking about him/her behind his/her back, so long as enough information is presented. If you do not want to, you do not have to reveal your character's entire past for interesting personal plotlines in the future. This should be no less than 300 words.

Sample Chapter: Write about anything pertaining to your character, whether it is his/her past or present. This section is so that the Application Staff can examine the quality of your writing and help with any grammar, spelling, or punctuation mistakes. Please note that this portion of your application plays a notable determining factor in the acceptance of your application. This should be no less than 500 words.

And that's it! Once finished filling out the above details, post your application in the New Applications section in the forums. It will then be reviewed by members of the Application Staff. They will help you and point out any problems with your application. When correcting any mistakes, please do not repost your application - simply edit the one you first posted and note any changes you made. When the application process is complete and a member of the Application Staff stamps their red stamp of approval, your application will be moved to the Accepted Characters subforum. Then, start out by creating a sexy profile in the Character Profiles section. After this, you're good to go! <3

For any problems regarding your application or if there seems to be a lack of reviews, feel free to PM or AIM any of the Application Staff members. Application Staff members can be approached regarding any site related queries and they will gladly explain them to you. ^^ For any items or benefits/flaws approvals, PM or AIM any of the Main Staff members with any questions and the descriptions of your traits/items. The Main Staff will then post their approvals beneath your application and you're good to go!
